1978 (30 year reunion) attracts record numbers
Big School was the setting on Friday 27 June for one of our most successful and well attended reunions with 109 guests (picutred below) in attendance. Special guests included five former masters — John Lanser, Andrew Stewart, Michael Leete and Harvey Hamilton. Current staff member, Jeff Cayser was also present.
David Celermajer lived up to his reputation as an outstanding after dinner speaker and was rewarded with a standing ovation. David was World Debating Champion in 1983 and World Public Speaking Champion in 1984.
1978 proved to be an exceptional year, both academically and in sport. 14 boys finished in the top 20 in the state. In rowing, the 1st VIII and 2nd VIII won Head of the River. In rugby, the 1st XV beat St Josephs at Hunter's Hill. The 1st XI Soccer team were undefeated champions. The 1st Tennis team was also undefeated. Success came with cricket as well, with the 2nd XI becoming joint Premiers.

The year also produced many outstanding artists and musicians.
For convenors, Bill Winning and Kymbal Dunne (who also took on the role of MC) the event generated a feeling of real pride. For them “the fun was in finding and re-connecting with those in their year”.
